Welcome to the Warwick Police Department

The Warwick Police Department was established in 1921.  Prior to that the villages of Warwick were policed by constables and sheriffs since 1648.  The department currently has 172 sworn police officers supported by 53 civilian employees that provide municipal policing services to a residential population of 81,000.

The Warwick Police Department, in conjunction with the City of Warwick’s Youth Advisory & Prevention Task Force, is now accepting applications for the 2015 Warwick Youth Leadership Camp.

 Adventure Camp

The Warwick Youth Leadership Camp is open to all Warwick children, both male and female, who are between the ages of 11 through 14. On Tuesday only, students will be dropped off at Thayer Arena. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, students will be dropped off at the Buttonwoods Community Center, 3027 West Shore Road. There are three camp weeks to choose from.

 

Choose ONE week: July 14-17, July 21-24, or July 28-31

The Warwick Youth Leadership Camp is:

ü  Limited to a first come, first served basis

ü  Supervised by police personnel

ü  Designed to instruct children in areas of leadership, confidence building (through the use of the ropes course), communication, and teamwork.

ü  Includes lessons on law-enforcement, crime scene investigation, anti- bullying education and substance abuse prevention.

Children who complete this course will meet new friends, learn new skills, and develop a sense of teamwork, accomplishment, pride, and self-esteem that can last a lifetime!

Parents/ Guardians: Drop off will be at 8:00 each day. Please pick-up your child at 2:30.

  • Drop off your children at Thayer Arena on Tuesday, and at the Buttonwoods Community Center, 3027 West Shore Road (across from WOW) on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
  • Lunch will be provided on Friday only during our cook-out.

The Warwick Youth Leadership Camp fills up fast, so you must submit your application no later than Friday, June 19th, 2015. No applications will be accepted after June 18th.

 

  • Please DO NOT sign up your child for more than one week!

 

  • Reminder: Parents/Guardians: Prior to choosing a camp week, please take into consideration all factors that might affect your choice of weeks (summer school, carpooling schedules with other parents, your child wishing to attend with their friends, vacations, etc). Once an application is submitted, we may not be able to accommodate changes.
