Welcome to the Warwick Police Department

The Warwick Police Department was established in 1921.  Prior to that the villages of Warwick were policed by constables and sheriffs since 1648.  The department currently has 172 sworn police officers supported by 53 civilian employees that provide municipal policing services to a residential population of 81,000.

Details

The Warwick PD hosted SWAT & K9 Interaction During Deployment School (SKIDDS) last week.  The course is taught by Canine Technical Schools out of California and teaches combined operations with SWAT and K9 personnel conducting building and open area searches, high risk apprehensions and K9 handling during live gunfire.  The training was over the course of 3 1/2 days.  Police and their K-9's from RI, MA CT, NJ and VA participated.
