Colonel Bradford Connor

Colonel Bradford Connor first joined the Warwick Police Department in 1996 where he proudly served the city for over 22 years.  He spent many of his years in the Community Services Division first as a Community Police Officer where he worked alongside community groups, working to combat quality of life issues then ultimately moving through the ranks where he would serve as officer in charge of the Division.  His career also included assignments in the Patrol Division, Detective Division and Professional Standards Division.  He would complete his 16 year tenure on the department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team as the Team Commander. 

Colonel Connor would serve as Commander of both the Operations and Administrative Bureaus prior to his promotion to the rank of Deputy Chief of Police before his retirement in April, 2019. 

Prior to his return to the Warwick Police Department in January, 2021 Colonel Connor served as the Director of Security at Women & Infants hospital in Providence RI.  There he was part of an Incident Command Team which aided the hospital in navigating through the covid-19 pandemic. 

Colonel Connor holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Anselm College and resides in Warwick with his wife Carla who proudly serves as a Detective on the Providence Police Department.  The Colonel also serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Warwick.

Colonel Connor is proud to serve alongside the men and women, both civilian and sworn who work tirelessly to provide the utmost in quality police services to the citizens of Warwick and who deserve credit and recognition for the great success of our agency.

Commander Michael Lima

 

Deputy Chief of Police

Commander Lima is a 18-year veteran of the Warwick Police Department.  Prior to coming to the Warwick PD, Commander Lima was a police officer in Somersworth, NH for 5 years attaining the rank of Detective before leaving for the Warwick PD.  He has held various positions in the Patrol Division, Community Service Division, and the Professional Standards Division.   

During the course of his career, Commander Lima has been a Field Training Officer, a Field Training Sergeant, and spent two years as the Officer in Charge of the Field Training program.  In all these capacities he has had the opportunity to assist in overseeing the training and development of newly hired officers. Commander Lima has also served on the department’s Crisis Negotiation Team for 7 years and had been the Team Leader for nearly 4 years before being promoted to the rank of Captain. 

Commander Lima is extremely proud of the time he spent in the Community Services Division.   He served as a Sergeant, a Lieutenant, and as the Officer in Charge of the Division.   Among his many accomplishments, he directed and participated in elevating the department’s social media platforms in the past year and developed community engagement initiatives that built a stronger bond between the community and the PD.

Commander Lima has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of New Hampshire and has attended various schools, to include, Crisis Negotiation, Incident Command System, Internal Affairs Investigations, and received the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy award for successfully completing all phases of their Leadership Institute.

His most recent assignment was the Major in charge of the Administrative Bureau. 

 

Major Andrew Sullivan

 Major- Administrative Bureau

Major Sullivan is a 25 year veteran of the Warwick Police Department.  He has held positions in the Patrol Division and the Detective Divisions. 

Major Sullivan spent a cumulative 11 years assigned to the Detective Division where he served as a detective, sergeant and lieutenant. Major Sullivan served as a Field Training Officer for many years as a patrol officer and also served as a Field Training Supervisor when he was a patrol sergeant.

Major Sullivan has served on the commendation committee and the peer support team as the Administrative Coordinator.

Major Sullivan has a Degree in Criminal Justice from Rhode Island College and previously served in the United States Marine Corps.

Prior to being assigned as the Administrative Bureau Commander, Major Sullivan served as the Operations Bureau Commander from May, 2021 through September, 2022.

Major Joel Thomas

Major - Operations Bureau

Major Thomas is an 18 year veteran of the Warwick Police Department. Major Thomas has held various positions in the Patrol Division and Community Services Division. He recently served as the Captain of the Professional Standards Division.  He has been a range officer and member of the SWAT team since 2012 until retiring as the team's Commander in 2019.  He also served on the police department's Dive Team. Major Thomas earned his Bachelor's Degree from Westfield State College in 2002.

Major Thomas is currently the Major of the Operations Bureau.

Captain John McAniff

OIC - Detective Division

Captain McAniff is a 19-year member of the department.  He has held positions in the Patrol Division, Detective Division, Prosecution Division, and Professional Standards Division. He has held the positions of Field Training Officer, Detective, FTO Supervisor, Officer in Charge of FTO program, Officer in Charge of the department Honor Guard, Officer in Charge of the Professional Standards Division, Officer in Charge of the Prosecution Division, Uniform Committee Chairperson, and Advisor to the Commendation Committee.  He is also a Cooper certified Physical Fitness assessor.  He attended the FBI-LEEDA school for Command Leadership.  He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State University, MA with a minor in Psychology.  He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Johnson and Wales University. 

Captain McAniff is currently the Officer in Charge of the Detective Division.
