POLICE RESPONSE TO SECOND THREAT AGAINST WARWICK SCHOOLS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Today, October 22, 2014 the Johnston Police Department received
an anonymous letter, similar to last weeks, through the mail in which a
physical threat was made to the schools in Johnston, Cranston and Warwick on
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. After a meeting between Chief
Tamburini, Colonel McCartney, and Colonel Winquist, the schools in each
jurisdiction will have continued police presence, utilizing both marked and
unmarked units, throughout the next two days. The Chiefs have met with
their respective school Superintendents advising them of the threat. The
investigation as to who sent the letter is ongoing. There is nothing
further being released at this time. If anyone has any information
regarding this incident, they are advised to contact the Johnston Police
department, the lead agency in this investigation.
