Welcome to the Warwick Police Department

The Warwick Police Department was established in 1921.  Prior to that the villages of Warwick were policed by constables and sheriffs since 1648.  The department currently has 172 sworn police officers supported by 53 civilian employees that provide municipal policing services to a residential population of 81,000.

Warwick Police Department Headlines

In conjunction with National Law Enforcement Officers' Week, the Warwick Police Department will be hosting a dedication ceremony Wednesday May 18, 2016 at 10:00 am to honor those officers of the Warwick Police Department that died in the line of duty. A memorial will be permanently placed in front of police headquarters bearing the names of the five officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the citizens of Warwick. Colonel Stephen M. McCartney cordially invites the public and the media to attend this special event.
