Deputy Chief of Police
Commander Lima is a 18-year veteran of the Warwick Police Department. Prior to coming to the Warwick PD, Commander Lima was a police officer in Somersworth, NH for 5 years attaining the rank of Detective before leaving for the Warwick PD. He has held various positions in the Patrol Division, Community Service Division, and the Professional Standards Division.
During the course of his career, Commander Lima has been a Field Training Officer, a Field Training Sergeant, and spent two years as the Officer in Charge of the Field Training program. In all these capacities he has had the opportunity to assist in overseeing the training and development of newly hired officers. Commander Lima has also served on the department’s Crisis Negotiation Team for 7 years and had been the Team Leader for nearly 4 years before being promoted to the rank of Captain.
Commander Lima is extremely proud of the time he spent in the Community Services Division. He served as a Sergeant, a Lieutenant, and as the Officer in Charge of the Division. Among his many accomplishments, he directed and participated in elevating the department’s social media platforms in the past year and developed community engagement initiatives that built a stronger bond between the community and the PD.
Commander Lima has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of New Hampshire and has attended various schools, to include, Crisis Negotiation, Incident Command System, Internal Affairs Investigations, and received the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy award for successfully completing all phases of their Leadership Institute.
His most recent assignment was the Major in charge of the Administrative Bureau.
