CUMBERLAND WOMAN ARRESTED FOR EMBEZZLING $10,300.00 FROM WARWICK MALL BUSINESS

Warwick Police have arrested DEBORAH FARIAS, 49, of Cumberland, RI after an investigation into missing cash from the STREET CORNER CONVENIENCE STORE located in the food court of the Warwick Mall.
Police were alerted in the late December by the store's owners, indicating that since the end of November, on five occasions, over $10,000 in cash from lottery sales was discovered missing from the store deposits. Detectives investigated and found that DEBORAH FARIAS, the former store manager, had transferred the funds for her own use over this period of time. On Wednesday, January 15th, FARIAS surrendered to Warwick Police. She was arrainged later that day at Kent County Court on embezzlement charges.
