Warwick Police Seek Assistance In Identifying Hammer Located Near City Park Murder Scene

Police are releasing new information about the May 17th, 2013 murder of John “Jack” Fay. Fay was killed while jogging on the bike path at Warwick City Park. The Warwick Police recovered a sledge hammer near the scene of the crime and are looking for information from anyone who may recognize it. Detectives have continued to work on this investigation and are asking for your help in identifying this sledge hammer. The sledge hammer is unique, in that it has a handle which has been custom made and the shape of the head of the hammer is unique as well. The sledge hammer is a 2.5lb sledge, 10” in length with a distinctive handle which may have had red on it at one time. Police believe that this sledge hammer is an old tool that might have been taken from someone’s home or toolbox.
